Bald Personality Disorder (WIP)

13 Oct 2025

Bald Personality Disorder

BALD PERSONALITY DISORDER is a work in progress performance of a show that straddles alternative comedy, spoken word and performance art. The poet, blogger and performer SCOTT MANLEY HADLEY takes to the stage with their self-adjacent persona, SOLID BALD, to explore and discuss class histories, gender identities, being diagnosed with a personality disorder and, most importantly, living a life after hair loss (scott has been bald since their mid-20s). With poetry, songs, costumes, quick change and an interactive quiz, BALD PERSONALITY DISORDER is raucous, cheeky and playful, yet tinged with sadness as scott manley hadley wrestles with the realisation that not being depressed isn’t the opposite of depression. BALD PERSONALITY DISORDER is a unique and original show that depicts and describes a life pursuing happiness in spite of a lifetime (to date) of never quite finding it. SCOTT MANLEY HADLEY has been Highly Commended in the Forward Prizes for Poetry, published several acclaimed books and their blog, TriumphoftheNow.com, has been quoted in print in the New Yorker.
