"When your younger sister is ill, you feel wrong. I feel wrong. I know exactly what the problem is, but I also know that the only thing I can do is wait. All anyone can do is wait."

An autobiographical and interdisciplinary solo performance which explores joy, grief, anger, and care in a sibling relationship affected by chronic illness. Drawing from the performer’s personal experiences, the solo tells the story of an older sister’s struggles to support her younger sister through chronic illness, while also grappling with her own feelings of grief, anger, and invisibility. The piece is presented through both movement and spoken word, accompanied by an original score. It is a deeply personal story about processing a childhood affected by uncertainty, and learning to balance caring for others and caring for oneself. It aims for understanding rather than blame, with the hopes of opening up the conversation around how long-term or chronic illness affects not just the person experiencing it, but all of their closest relations.
