Cava Charley’s Backstage Pass

Cava Charley’s Backstage Pass

Dashing drag-dandy Cava Charley hosts an all singing, all dancing theatrical extravaganza. You’re invited into the backstage chaos as Cava deals with cast mate crises, management malpractice, and a building that’s crumbling underfoot. You’re an audience looking for a good time, you’re a tired artiste sharing gossip in the dressing room... you might be called upon to save the show!
Packed with song and silliness, Backstage Pass is a funny and fearless look at the legacy of mental illness in the arts, our reticence towards self care, and what draws us to the magic and the mayhem of live theatre.

The show has been made with a relaxed style in mind. The audience are informed at the beginning of trigger warnings, and told they are free to come and go as they please. There are no sudden flashing lights and no sudden loud noises.

The Glitch is a vibrant artsy café & bar and unique creative space in the heart of Waterloo, created by VAULT Creative Arts, producers of VAULT Festival. Good coffee, cheeesy toasties, cold beers, delicious cocktails and the most welcoming staff. It’s the perfect place to meet with friends, work in comfort, or relax admiring local artworks. As the evening draws in, the space morphs into a lively bar with intimate nights of comedy, theatre, music, spoken word, and special one-off events and parties. A unique space with plenty of atmosphere that’s open and inclusive to all. Queer-friendly and proudly a safe space for the LGBTQIA community, with many events led by or created for queer people.

The Spacement is an intimate space downstairs at The Glitch with a capacity of 30, ideal for Stand Up Comedy, script readings, film screenings, intimate sharings, presentations, spoken word, and acoustic nights. Basic tech provision.
