DADOLESCENCE is a hilarious and heartfelt new one-man show about becoming a father, told from the one perspective nobody really cares about...the dad's.
Part theatre and part confessional, the play follows Joey through the chaos of fertility clinics, scheduled sex, pregnancy, labour and the terrifying moment he finally becomes someone's father. Along the way he battles hospital chairs, sperm counts, IKEA bears, awkward biology lessons and his own emotional immaturity, desperately trying to work out what being "a dad" actually means before his daughter arrives.
Blending direct audience address with theatrical storytelling, music, movement and surreal comedy, DADOLESCENCE constantly shifts between laugh-out-loud absurdity and surprising emotional honesty. Beneath the jokes lies a touching exploration of modern masculinity, vulnerability and the pressure men often feel to hold everything together while having absolutely no idea what they're doing.

The Glitch is a vibrant artsy café & bar and unique creative space in the heart of Waterloo, created by VAULT Creative Arts, producers of VAULT Festival. Good coffee, cheeesy toasties, cold beers, delicious cocktails and the most welcoming staff. It’s the perfect place to meet with friends, work in comfort, or relax admiring local artworks. As the evening draws in, the space morphs into a lively bar with intimate nights of comedy, theatre, music, spoken word, and special one-off events and parties. A unique space with plenty of atmosphere that’s open and inclusive to all. Queer-friendly and proudly a safe space for the LGBTQIA community, with many events led by or created for queer people.
