David Ingram: You’d Better Work! (In progress)

Fresh from sell-out performances of his Edinburgh show Carrot Top: Memoirs of a Gay (“a deeply personal, hilarious and empowering journey” – The Scotsman; “Cutting, clever and dirty all at the same time” – One4Review), retired twink and international flight attendant David Ingram brings a brand new work-in-progress to Lambeth.

Who do you become when you’ve spent your whole life trying to be what everyone else expects? Through questionable life choices, childhood obsessions and an unhealthy fixation with the Spice Girls, David is trying to find out. Expect high energy, bold confessions and non-stop punchlines.

Blending sharp humour with candid storytelling, Ingram takes audiences from his upbringing in Paisley to life as a gay flight attendant, unpacking the personas we adopt - and what happens when they begin to fall away. Thoughtful, funny and unexpectedly revealing, this is a show about self-discovery in all its messy, human detail.

This work-in-progress offers a rare chance to see a show in development - an intimate, evolving performance where audiences are part of the journey.
