Elephant in the Room
Babar, king of the elephants and one of the most adored childhood cartoons around the world, is almost 94 years old and is currently having a little problem... a drinking problem. But it's not just Babar who's aged badly – some modern-day critics are suggesting that his beloved stories are actually colonialist propaganda disguised as children's entertainment.
Are the critics right? Is Babar really the colonialist elephant in the room we've all been ignoring? Come and discover the truth about everyone's favorite pachyderm in this thought-provoking yet hilarious exploration of childhood, nostalgia, and the stories we tell ourselves.
Joined by two other hilarious guests that you absolutely can't miss. A purely fringy show that literally doesn't leave anyone indifferent.
Created by Pablo Lechuga, this unique performance has toured internationally at Edinburgh Fringe, Prague Fringe, Gothenburg Fringe, Reykjavik Fringe, Tallinn Fringe and FinFringe Festivals. Through a blend of clown, physical comedy, improvisation and satire, the show examines the uncomfortable questions lurking beneath that familiar green suit, yellow crown and red bow tie.
