Exploding Cinema September

Immerse yourselves in the fantastic minutiae of film at The Cinema Museum, where the past meets the future within a kaleidoscope of imagery.

Exploding Cinema have been presenting shows here for over ten years and shown hundreds of shorts in that time. Come and enjoy new independent short films from international film makers in all genres as long as it’s less than 20 minutes.

All shows are open access, volunteer-run and funded only by our live show ticket sales held regularly since 1991. A vibrant screening experience for filmmakers and audiences alike.

As well as a programme of short films, see live music, raffle prizes and our trademark kaleidoscopic psychedelic projections that cover every surface that isn’t the screen.

If you would like to submit a film for this or a future screening, details can be found on our website www.explodingcinema.org.

Venue: The Cinema Museum

London’s Cinema Museum is devoted to keeping alive the spirit of cinema from the days before the multiplex. Set in historic surroundings in Kennington, close to the Elephant & Castle, The Cinema Museum houses a unique collection of artefacts, memorabilia and equipment that preserves the history and grandeur of cinema from the 1890s to the present day.

The Cinema Museum will be showcasing a series of events and screenings under The Lambeth Fringe.

Please note this is an ‘umbrella venue’ -the shows have already been programmed as part of the Lambeth Fringe and this space is therefore not available for artists to apply to.
