French Sundaes: Trois hommes et un couffin (1985) on 35mm

5 Oct 2025

Trois hommes et un couffin / Three Men and a Cradle

Trois hommes et un couffin is a 1985 French comedy film by Coline Serreau. The film was remade in Hollywood as Three Men and a Baby in 1987, which subsequently inspired nine adaptations in seven languages. Coline Serreau showed a mastery of the intelligent comedy and this film, though imitated, has not been bettered despite remakes in many languages. A chance to see a film that deserves new audiences for its clever plot and excellent performances. This is screening from a Cinema Museum 35mm print, for the authentic cinema experience. Accompanied by an introductory illustrated talk by Jon Davies, Tutor in French Cinema at Morley College.

Venue: The Cinema Museum

London’s Cinema Museum is devoted to keeping alive the spirit of cinema from the days before the multiplex. Set in historic surroundings in Kennington, close to the Elephant & Castle, The Cinema Museum houses a unique collection of artefacts, memorabilia and equipment that preserves the history and grandeur of cinema from the 1890s to the present day.

The Cinema Museum will be showcasing a series of events and screenings under The Lambeth Fringe.

Please note this is an ‘umbrella venue’ -the shows have already been programmed as part of the Lambeth Fringe and this space is therefore not available for artists to apply to.
