Jane Eyre Convention
Double Edinburgh Fringe First winners bring the first ever live reenactment of Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre to a community hall somewhere in West Norwood, South London.
Diverse, opinionated and quarrelsome aficionados gather together at the convention to squabble over lines, scenes and interpretations. Themes of loss and abandonment, bullying and abuse vie with poverty and heartbreak. Hope and perseverance are key to our protagonists.
Beneath the arguing and scene-stealing, real-life stories and events emerge and actual feelings and emotions run amok. Audiences will be swept up in the rags to riches story as our attendees bring it to life.
Frocks and bonnets welcome.
