L.A BABY
A darkly comedic tale of Davies’ nine years in LA, where she arrives full of comedy aspirations but leaves with absurd stories and survival skills. Stuck in a cycle of cringeworthy auditions, odd jobs and finally, a nanny gig with an Orthodox family in the middle of an expensive divorce. Meanwhile, the relationship with her abusive partner escalates from toxic to terrifying. When stalking, death threats and the prospect of carrying a gun to school pick-ups become her only viable option, Davies decides to escape the chaos of LA and return to London.
Following a successful run at Edinburgh Fringe, L.A BABY is debuting at the Bread & Roses Theatre.
A highly talented performer. The writing achieves a nice balance of comically quirky edginess. Donald Hutera - The Times
Intimate, raw honesty, you can't help but laugh along, even as you wince. ★★★★
