A road. We know this not from sight but from sound. The lights are still down at this point. The road is rural, running through waterlogged fields and scatterings of civilisation. It is English, but also could be anywhere, in the peculiar sense of the small town universal.
The show is a piece for two actors, a mother and a trans son, and takes place across a series of driving lessons. Inspired by myth, folklore, and all manner of storytelling, 'Late Soon' is the second play from collaboration between writer Kit Ford and producer Phoebe Constantine at the Lambeth Fringe.
