Leave My Fluctuating Body Alone

24 - 25 Sept 2024

Slightly Sideways Theatre presents 'Leave My Fluctuating Body Alone' (A Work in Progress)

Meet Sophie, an undiagnosed neurospicy nursery nurse from Essex in the dodgy end of her twenties. Leave My Fluctuating Body Alone is a mental health piece that focuses on Sophie's journey to recovery. This dark comedy is a raw confessional of what it's like navigating womanhood in all its outrageous forms. It pokes at challenging themes surrounding beauty ideals, body image, social media and diet culture and how this feeds into so many facets of a woman's life. Provocative and powerful new writing by Elle Hudson and Jessica Evans.

This piece is a section from a larger play, we hope to use this performance as a way to improve our piece. We would love any feedback from audience members, so will have some time after for anyone to ask questions/give feedback (this is optional) we will also have QR codes left out for anyone who is happy to give us feedback in the form of a survey.
