Los años maravillosos: Archive, image and collapse
In 1971, a young Uruguayan model gave an interview about the future she imagined for herself.
More than fifty years later, a performer returns to that archive on stage.
Drawing from this real archive, Los años maravillosos brings language, image and body into tension, creating a fragmented narrative that is interrupted, repeated and ultimately collapses.
Between Montevideo and London — under the shadow of Diana Spencer as an image of projection and desire — the piece explores the distance between what we once imagined we would become and what we never became.
The work does not reconstruct the past: it places it in crisis.
Conceived as an intimate, small-scale performance, the piece proposes a close encounter in which the audience witnesses a performer attempting to sustain a narrative that falls apart in real time.
Los años maravillosos is an exploration of identity, memory and image, and of what remains when the promises of the future begin to collapse.

The Glitch is a vibrant artsy café & bar and unique creative space in the heart of Waterloo, created by VAULT Creative Arts, producers of VAULT Festival. Good coffee, cheeesy toasties, cold beers, delicious cocktails and the most welcoming staff. It’s the perfect place to meet with friends, work in comfort, or relax admiring local artworks. As the evening draws in, the space morphs into a lively bar with intimate nights of comedy, theatre, music, spoken word, and special one-off events and parties. A unique space with plenty of atmosphere that’s open and inclusive to all. Queer-friendly and proudly a safe space for the LGBTQIA community, with many events led by or created for queer people.
