My Name Is Not Nikola

For the past 15 years, every time I entered a room, I would say "Hi! My name is Nikola."

And now it makes me feel like a fraud. But how does an ice breaker question from a run of the mill drama audition make someone question their entire identity, one they were sure they were proud of?

A "deeply resonating" and "charismatic" one person show that "will make people feel seen" on the complicated nature of existing as an immigrant, both in your home country and the one you had to make your second home. But honestly, is it really a one person show if the stories you tell are those about the people you love most, and rarely about yourself? Does that make me a fraud? Or conceited? Or it just the fact that my name is not actually Nikola? (Buckle up, you'll hear that a lot.)

Mixing personal anecdote, family history, the idea of inherited trauma, and a seemingly omniscient narrator in the form of a voice over, My Name Is Not Nikola weaves together a candid story of what it means to unravel your own identity and glue it back together.
