Neither Here Nor There

Neither Here Nor There

Who am I? Where do I belong?

'Neither Here Nor There' is a two-woman documentary theatre play inspired by verbatim and autobiographical material. It follows two women—one second-generation Chinese-Spanish, the other mixed-race Danish, Nigerian, and Italian—each navigating multiple worlds.

As they wrestle with identity, belonging, and the weight of expectations, their balloons become mirrors of their struggles and imaginary friends offering comfort in a world that often doesn’t understand them.

Through raw, intimate dialogue, they confront alienation, racial prejudice, and the search for home. Poignant, deeply personal, and laced with humour, this play speaks to international, second-generation, third-culture individuals, immigrants, and anyone questioning their place in society. It’s for those shaped by more than one culture—belonging to all and none.
