Patisserie Femme
Patisserie Femme is a delicious sketch-style satire set in a spin-off of the Great British Bake Off tent. Forget Bread Week and Star Baker, these contestants have a different set of rules! That's right, sweet treats are out and mouth-watering women are in!
The audience will bear witness to funny and heart-wrenching confessions by the hosts, contestants and key pantry ingredients too. Whether you're an innocent little “sweetie-pie”, your darling partner's “honey” or a “tart” on the market, you're a woman who can't escape being eaten up. Patisserie Femme is sure to make you laugh your way through uncomfortable themes — yeast infections and popping the cherry to name but a few. What Patisserie Femme most certainly doesn’t do, is sugar-coat the injustices that women face on the daily.
Written by Jessie Diepeveen, the show first premiered in South Africa and has seen several successful runs across the country, including the prestigious Market Theatre. This two-time Fleur du Cap nominee for Best New Director and Best Ensemble (2024) is making its London debut.
