Joel can see dead people. Ashley is a dead person. Joel wants to die. Ashley thinks he's being dramatic.
After meeting by chance on a random rooftop one day, the two discuss death, life, and the end of the world in this 50-minute, one act play that explores themes of suicide, the supernatural, and the shortcomings of the beyond.
Described as "darkly funny", "heartfelt", and "earnestly human", this minimalistic production has the audience witness a real-time conversation between two people existing across different planes and coming to terms with who they are, the choices they've made, and the realisation that we are never truly alone.
Currently a work-in-progress, Planes is being performed in full in front of its very first audience at the Lambeth Fringe Festival ahead of its official premiere this coming winter.

A 50-seat fringe venue above The Bread & Roses Pub, the theatre programs a wide-spread variety of productions for local as well as far-reaching audiences. The theatre regularly hosts touring shows and has worked with award-winning ensembles with decades of experience but also frequently welcomes and supports emerging theatre-makers taking their first steps. The programme includes new writing, contemporary revivals, reinvented classics and occasionally also devised work, improvisational theatre, comedy events, family shows and physical theatre.
Recently renovated, The Bread and Roses Theatre features brand new tiered seating, with 50 new individual seats, and a professional floor.
