Ramesh & Julie
Ramesh & Julie is a music led comedy that asks one very important question: does true love still exist in 2026?
Using Romeo and Juliet as a gloriously inconvenient starting point, two self appointed experts on modern love set out to investigate whether Shakespeare’s most famous couple deserve their reputation as the “greatest romance of all time” or whether they’ve simply been oversold for the last four centuries.
Blending original songs, satire, audience interaction and a healthy amount of fourth wall breaking, Ramesh & Julie takes aim at everything from dating apps and beauty standards to emotional unavailability, heroic masculinity, idealised femininity and our collective obsession with “the one”. Through a distinctly contemporary Indian lens, the show explores how love has evolved since the time of Juliet and her Romeo.
Fast, funny and unapologetically self aware, Ramesh & Julie is part musical, part theatrical roast, and part relationship intervention. Whether you’re a hopeless romantic, a committed cynic, or somewhere awkwardly in between, this is Shakespeare like you’ve never seen him before.
