Screaming, Crying, Throwing Up, Begging to be Loved (Yikes)

25 Oct 2025

SLAG Productions Presents Screaming, Crying, Throwing Up, Begging to be Loved (Yikes)

This show follows a fat, early twenty-something-year-old girl who is obsessed with every rom-com she has ever seen, resulting in high expectations for love and romance. Her high hopes, met with the reality of dating as a fat person, sends her into a spiral when her incredibly handsome crush (like, rivalling young Hugh Grant level handsome) unexpectedly comes home with her. Set in her bedroom, she panicking-ly consults with the audience on what she should do. Using her rolodex of rom-com romantic moments as a guide, all while her crush is waiting in the next room, she acts out every rom-com moment etched in her memory (line-by-line, breath-by-breath, touch-by-touch); she can't seem to wrap her head around her current, time-sensitive, situation. This fat woman has never experienced romantic love, nor seen another fatty like her experience it, so why should she expect that same rom-com, picture-perfect, screen-worthy, romantic love story?
