Second Thoughts - The Play
Second Thoughts follows Clement Achebe, a once-successful Lagos professional who leaves behind a stable life in pursuit of greater opportunities abroad. What he hopes will be a journey toward a brighter future quickly becomes a confrontation with harsh realities, cultural shocks, and the emotional weight of having to start over. Told as an intimate one-man play, the story blends humour, vulnerability, and reflection as Clement questions the true cost of ambition, the meaning of home, and the choices that shape identity. Through moments of honesty and quiet revelation, he invites the audience into the internal battle between hope and regret, pride and survival. Second Thoughts is a deeply human exploration of migration, belonging, and the universal search for a life that feels truly one’s own.
