Thank God It's Doomsday

Has doomscrolling become your inevitable bedtime routine? Do you get anxious every time you watch or read the news? Break out in a cold sweat just thinking about government inaction on climate change? If so, Thank God It’s Doomsday may be the cure you need. A French short film shot in English with a British and Canadian cast, it tells the story of Adam, an emotionally adrift young man, who embarks on a perilous journey through the woods with a mysterious woman named Gaia to reunite with his family before the world ends. Director Kevin Rousseau and producer Louis-Marie Harrivelle conceived it as a cinematic hug for the worried souls of all ages who feel this century is failing them and ruining this planet. Following their Hitchcock-inspired short film “Murder Too Soon!”, the filmmakers wanted to tackle more contemporary themes, addressing their own existential anxieties... and having everyone else partake in their own little film therapy. Packed with gorgeous landscapes, compelling performances, and edge-of-your-seat moments, Thank God It’s Doomsday will leave you wondering: is this the End of the World... or does it just feel that way?
