The Wedding Date
‘Why don’t you try catching his eye?... Wait, what are you doing?’
‘I’m smiling at him?’
‘You look like you want to skin him.’
Selena and Iris have been best friends since their final day of GCSE’s.
Iris has always had a boyfriend. Selena loves a flirt. That's just always how it’s been with them - until it wasn’t.
Now 25, single and on the cusp of new beginnings, they find themselves at an old friend’s wedding... without plus ones. At the wedding, the friendship will unravel as secrets that have been kept from each other come to light.
A series of vivid snippets throughout their lives, the play explores their friendship from teen years to adulthood. A colourful, joyful and relatable exploration of young friendship with twists along the way.
If you’ve ever let a friend down, desperately wanted a relationship, never been sure how to flirt, always compared yourself to that one person, or loved someone beyond measure in a non romantic way - this show is for you...
