On The Thickness of Blood

21 - 22 Oct 2025

201 Productions present On The Thickness of Blood

On The Thickness of Blood follows Brooke - newly thirty and determined to rebrand and glow-up as she enters the new era that she’s spent the last three years doing everything she possibly can to avoid.

Step one: mature haircut. (Tick)

Step two: get professional confirmation that she is, in fact, totally fine.

On the false promise of a free bottomless brunch, Brooke lures her younger sisters, Darcie and Elsa, to a therapy session - trapping them in a windowless room with nothing but themselves, a therapist, and an ugly, too-small sofa. But when the therapist is suddenly hospitalised with Rat Lungworm, Brooke refuses to let the hour go to waste. She pulls rank as the eldest, blackmailing, bribing and guilt tripping her way into getting Elsa and Darcie to stay until the session is up. After all, it’s not about the therapist. It’s the act of being there.

So with no professional in sight, the sisters take turns playing therapist to make the clock turn faster. What begins as a joke soon unearths old wounds, unspoken fears, and the kind of tangled history only siblings share, all building to one messy, honest question: when it really counts, is blood thicker than water?
