Spare some *Humanity*, Please?
“I remind meself it doesn't matter who you are, us or them, the scales of life... always... tip.”
Set on the streets of London, this story follows Jake and Ed - two homeless men who, despite their circumstances, experience the same emotional truths we all share: love, loss, and the need for connection.
It’s the birthday of Jake’s mum, who passed away several years ago, and emotionally he’s not doing well - his declining health is also becoming harder to hide . But Ed arrives, and together they share stories, laughter, and an unspoken determination to make it through the day.
As busy Londoners pass them by without a second glance, the audience is drawn into an organic conversation between the men about grief, friendship, and the simple universal desire to be seen.
This debut play from new writer, playwright, and screenwriter Chin Lewis makes its first appearance at the Lambeth Fringe Festival - a fitting stage in a borough deeply affected by homelessness.
Minimal staging. Maximum humanity. This play invites you to look again - with empathy, not pity - at the people we often overlook.
