Its A Dud present The Immigrant Play
"Extreme trauma and oppression unlocks a magical power in the oppressed that the oppressor can never see or understand. Our ancient wisdom has many layers to it and this magic is released from the tree of our heritage." Taking place over one night, we jump in time and space between present day South London and Lahore in 1947. Angad finds his world flipped upside down when he gets arrested for a crime he didn't commit. 'The Immigrant Play' is a surrealist piece that explores intersectionality, assimilation, colonialism and being able to love in a time where hate is so popular. It asks the question whether anyone can ever be a good immigrant in a country that doesn't value immigrants.
